Idolatry, the Sepulchre  and the Mindset by Ayo Sobule - Ayo Sobule  Idolatry can be described as submitting to the control of anything outside God. It is a form of worship(reverence) of things that are created by God. In Ex 20:3-5, God specifically instructed the israelites not to engage in any form of idolatry because He is  jealous and would not give whatever is given belongs to Him to anything that doesn't be bring dishonor to Him. This implies that as sons of God, we should not engage in any form of serving or submitting to the control of anything outside God. Be it money(mammon), fame, jewelries, appearances, etc, we should not be carried away to the extent that we can't do without them.
