Idolatry, the Sepulchre and the Mindset

Idolatry, the Sepulchre  and the Mindset by Ayo Sobule

Idolatry can be described as submitting to the control of anything outside God. It is a form of worship(reverence) of things that are created by God. In Ex 20:3-5, God specifically instructed the israelites not to engage in any form of idolatry because He is  jealous and would not give whatever is given belongs to Him to anything that doesn't be bring dishonor to Him.

This implies that as sons of God, we should not engage in any form of serving or submitting to the control of anything outside God. Be it money(mammon), fame, jewelries, appearances, etc, we should not be carried away to the extent that we can't do without them. A form of idolatry that is common nowadays is the love of money; we are too money conscious that we shun anything that is of God or spiritual just to bring uphold money.

Apostle Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:10;For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The love of money is a form of idolatry that God frowns upon. Those who are too money conscious fall into divers temptations , they are swayed away and at the end, they lose out of all the promises of God and land on empty harbor.

Idolatry brings spiritual and physical ruin to man and renders him an enemy of God(1 John 5:21)

The Sepulchre : This is a place where the dead is buried. It is otherwise known as a tomb. It is widely believed in many cultures that the dead doesn't actually 'die' so some people who are called necromancers communicate with the dead on behalf of the living. When Samuel died, King saul, who has ousted all necromancers, sort the service of one in order to hear samuel as he used to. The result was that he was cursed, and he lost his portion in God(1 Sam 28). This, in turn, means anyone who sorts the service of these people is engaging in idolatry.

Then how do Celestials visit to the burial site of Papa Oshoffa in Imeko different? In Ez 37:1-10, God used prophet Ezekiel to raise dry bones to become living men, which was a big deal of miracle at that time and until now. When prophet Elisha died and was buried, a dead body was mistakenly thrown into his tomb, and as soon as the body touched his bone, it came back to life.

This is telling us that God deposits the power to bring the dead to life into those who He has used mightily on earth. He can deposit the same into you if you give yourself to Him!

Papa Oshoffa before he slept separated a place for himself beside his mother as his final resting place. He said wherever he sleeps should be where he would be buried, either in Benin Republic or Nigeria, and that wherever he is buried would be a tourist attraction to people of all religions. He said that whenever we gather during the convocation, his spirit will come be with us, and God will answer all our prayers.

Why do we visit the sepulchre? It is to tell God that if truly you called the man sleeping here , do this and this for me. By practical experience , this has always worked like magic.

My good brother Samuel Caesar told us that he was shown a revelation of the selpurche . In the revelation, he was shown many men of God he respected who are not Celestial; living and dead. He was told that if all the power and glory God has given to them all are combined,it is not up to what has deposited in Papa oshoffa!

What a great testimony!

Visiting Papa's sepulchre is not out of place, but we must be moderate and do things according to understanding. The beauty of this is that anyone can try it out to see if this is true or mere words to win people to believe things that do not exist.

The mentality(mindset) we should carry is that whatever we are told by God to do is not a form of idolatry but following the instructions of God. Ex 20:4-5 explained that we should not make by OURSELVES any graven image; this means what he gives us to do is what we should do. For instance, the altar in our church is given to us by God, and we bow before it. This is telling us that following the dictate of God should be paramount in our lives so we won't be swayed away by those with little or no understanding.

I will advise that before we speak for or against anything in Celestial Church, we should have a clear and distinct revelation(s) about it so we can speak, and God can witness our words.

I pray the Lord will continue to grant us access to revelations to understand mysteries embedded in this great church in Jesus Christ name.
